Makoto’s new series SAKURA is a san-mai construction with a core of SG2 powdered steel at the core at approximately 63/65 HRC. This series is extremely thin, effectively a laser grind so quite similar to the Kotetsu series by Takayuki Shibata making it perfect for precision cutting. This line has a great standard of fit and finish throughout and has a lightweight nimble feel to it. As the blades comes with a unusually thin edge geometry so we recommend taking extra care when using this line as they will be a bit more fragile than most blades made from SG2. The octagonal handle is made from American cherry with a pakka wood bolster.
