Gyuto / Chef's knife knife is a general purpose knife. Hand forged by Yoshimii Kato. This series has a beautiful aesthetic and is particularly well ground, the pattern welded steel has a matt surface finish which makes the nickel layers in the damascus stand out and catch the eye.
The founder of Kato Hamono, Kintaro Kato, began forging knives in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture, in 1928. His skills have been inherited by third-generation craftsman Yoshimi Kato, who is continuing to pass down their techniques to younger apprentices while making knives and sickles.
